Gough & Davy is a musical instrument retailer based in East Yorkshire, who came to Peaco Marketing with the hope of expanding the business’s online presence to create a nationally successful e-commerce setup.

What we did

MARKETING & UX

Peaco Marketing implemented wishlist, finance, and my account functionality across the site to ensure conversion was as seamless as possible.

On Page SEO

We ensured that all products and collections were fully optimised including on page written content, as well as all other on page SEO elements.

Technical SEO

Using the Shopify CMS, we ensured speeds were fully optimised, creating solutions to solve issues like finance & my account functionality.

Content Marketing

We realised the potential of selling pre owned products, enabling us to successfully implement new collections now seen on page 1 of Google.

The Strategy

Gough & Davy needed to expand their customer base to sell nationally, competing with industry titans as well as global marketplaces and brands selling directly to consumers.

The plan was to use specificity to our advantage. By fully optimising all 900 unique products, over 100 collections and implementing a new second hand product system, we would be able to compete for low funnel search terms encouraging high and quick conversion rates.

The result

Working with the SEO team in Hull, the result was the optimisation of each website as well as the creation of a national website, resulting in an overall increase of sales of over 200% YoY and over 3x the traffic of the previous year.

Through the optimisation of the overall site, the product category pages and the individual product pages themselves, the site has seen traffic increase by over 160% YoY. Using the Shopify CMS and working with the team both locally and to sell nationally, the site has been able to increase revenue and ROI of marketing services in order to thrive even despite the high street seeing a decline.

Using technical terminology and preferred user keywords throughout our full catalogue optimisation service, we skyrocketed impressions and traffic almost instantly.

Optimising both categories and products individually helped to increase the quality of the page content and the overall on page optimisation.

Fixing cannibalisation issues, adding product and category descriptions, correcting H tags, and adding more images all helped to make a huge difference in performance.

  We’ve recently had our website refreshed by Josh and the difference is huge.

The site now feels clean, modern and much more aligned with where we want the brand to be. Navigation is clearer, product presentation is stronger, and overall it finally feels like a proper e-commerce platform we can confidently build on and scale.
